General Description

Located on the third floor of a building with an elevator and able to sleep two or three persons, the studio contains a pull out double sofa bed and a single foldaway mattress in the main area. The area duals as a living/bedroom and contains a flat screen television, wardrobe and a small table with chairs. A red motif runs throughout the apartment, including the kitchen; all white tiles cover the majority of the bathroom.

The Living Room

The main living area is used for entertaining (watching TV or reading), eating and sleeping and filled with items that make the most out of the space. Positioned in front of a large window is a tables with two chairs; when not is use, you can fold the wooden chairs and collapse the table top, which neatly folds to look like a small enclosed bookshelf. The sofa, donned with red throw pillows, pulls out into a double bed; in either position you can relax and watch the flat screen television across the room. Light walls brings out the refinement in the wooden floors; decorations are kept simple, with two frames circular mirrors about the sofa bed placed next to a full-length wardrobe with mirrored doors. A simple wall hanging and colorful chandelier add to the character of the room.

The Kitchen

Despite limited space, the kitchen is fully functional and equipped with a toaster, coffer maker and kettle and red cabinet storage above and below. A sink and stove top are placed on either side of the tiled counter top; between the upper cabinets and counter is a convenient row of cooking utensils, including a colander, spatula, ladle and a red pot holder hanging on the adjacent wall.

The Bathroom

White tiles surround the walls around the walk-in/open shower and toilet; white tiles also line the long narrow countertop, while mirrors are hung along the entire counter space above a small area of exposed, lightly colored, wall. The unique sink basin looks like a large bowl on top of the counter and overhead lights make the space bright; a modern circular design on a matching tissue box cover and cups bring a hint of red into the room.

The Area/Environment

The surrounding area offers residents easy access to a wide range of contemporary and historical Parisian culture. The Louvre Museum, which contains some of the greatest works of art throughout history, is located in the 1st area of Paris. The studio is within close proximity to two famous bridges, the Pont Neuf and Pont des Arts, which span across the river Seine; also accessible is the Tulleries Gardens, known for its romantic atmosphere, ponds, benches, amusement park and small art galleries as well as its proximity to the Seine and Place de la Concorde. Other notable places of interest include the Ile de la Cité and Notre Dame Cathedral, accessed from crossing the Pont Neuf, and leading to the St. Germain and Latin Quarter. Popular shops include a mini market on Rue du Louvre, the Nicolas wine shop on Rue de Rivoli, Franprix supermarket on Rue Berger and a farmer’s market on rue Montmartre, behind the St. Eustache church. In addition, crossing the Pont des Arts leads to a stamp collector market on Avenue de Marigny and many contemporary boutiques and restaurants. Metro: Louvre (line 1)
