General Description
Lively and bright, the entire space has a wonderful vibe throughout its living room, dining room, three bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as the extra room located upstairs that can be used for guests or as a sublet apartment. The bedrooms include a children’s room with double-bunk beds, room with two sleeping spots and a third with a double bed.
The Living Room
Popping out with its huge size, bright color and numerous throw pillows, a red corner sofa sets the living room tone. Highlights Oriental flair are placed throughout the room, including an arabesque collection table, pillow, bolster, pillow/ottoman covered in green fabric with a touch of red fringe, large cabinet Asian artwork on the face, a mirror in gilded frame hanging above the couch, glass display cabinet and numerous other touches reflective of art from Indian to Asia. An area rug atop the parquet flooring in the center of the room and beautiful drapery give the room added panache.
The Dining Room
Glass shelving with blue backing and cabinetry hold a collection of carefully placed items; on either side of the room is a desk – a roll-top in the far corner next to another glass display caseand a table with chair, which holds a computer. A large wooden dining table in the center of the room contains five wooden chairs; natural light shines through the window, as the burgundy drapery pulled to the side picks up the color of the floral area rug covering the wooden flooring in the middle part of the room.
The Kitchen
A narrow kitchen is fully equipped with the convenience of modern appliances; cabinets overhead and below provide storage for pots and pans, cookware, tableware and utensils and typical pantry items. Unadorned windows bring light into the room with tiled floors.
The First Bedroom
Suitable for children and young teens, this bedroom sleeps two in a bunk bed. This colorful, energetic room has turquoise walls and transparent orange curtains, a seventies-inspired area rug with multiple ovals varying in color and size and large shelving space that hold books, games, a stereo and other youth-inspired items. In addition, a white desk with matching “egg” chair is positioned in the corner as you walk into the room, with drawers and cubbyhole storage space and room for a laptop computer; on the wall above the desk hangs two pictures in bright pink frames.
The Second Bedroom
A large cubbyhole-style shelving unit is positioned against the wall, the different sized openings can accommodate a myriad of items such as books, as stereo, perfumes, clock and numerous other items. White walls and natural light from a full-length mirror make this room very bright; a single beds sits against the wall and opposite from a table-desk with chair, large enough for a laptop, and a and more traditional desk that holds a flat panel televisions set and lamp. A picture of the lower reigns of the Eiffel towel hangs above the table and duals as a pushpin board.
Exit the bedroom into a small Foyer painted purple; this tiny space contains a sewing mannequin, area rug and antique furniture piece.
The Third Bedroom
Open and airy, with modern art prints adorning the walls, this bedroom contains a comfortable double bed, decorated with silk throw pillows and a comforter with reds and purples that brings back the Orient-inspired design of the living room; in addition, there’s a high side table with a Buddha statuette and mirror, night table with alarm clock and books and a small round table and red chair facing the view out an open window adorned with transparent purple curtains.
The First Bathroom
Bright blue tiles frame yellow tiling on and around the bathtub/shower and counter space; this bathroomhas a circular mirror surrounded by beautiful shades of yellow mosaics, a washbasin and cabinet space below the sink.
The Second Bathroom
A round mirror surrounded by blue and green mosaics hangs above a freestanding sink in the second bathroom covered in lilac tiles. The room also contains a shower cabin and toilet.
The Area/Environment
Located in a peaceful area in proximity to the Lyon railway station, which provides access to the busy heart of Paris as well as the Bastille and Republic districts.Notable sites in the 12th area of Paris include the Bois de Vincennes – the largest park in Paris and the PalaisOmnisports de Paris-Bercy – an indoor arena used for sports events and concerts. Residents enjoy numerous cafés, restaurants and shops in the surrounding area. Metro: Gare de Lyon (lines 1 and 14)
