General Description
This one-bedroom studio, located on the first French floor of a 17th century building, sleeps up to four persons. Striking wood and stone details stand out in the living/dining room, unique headboard and side tables in the bedroom area, kitchen nook located within the living space and private bathroom with bath and toilet.
The Living Room
In true studio fashion, one large area “divides” to serve multiple purposes. The living area contains a dining table with four chairs as well as a double sofa bed that sleeps two, entertainment area with a small TV and DVD player. Stone walls and floors, doors, cabinets, art frames and beams made from a rich wood give a unique and warm character to the entire place. Residents have a beautiful view of the courtyard, with stone walkway, potted trees and plants; the outer architecture matches the inner details of the studio. A large, beautiful wardrobe, with side drawers and mirrors, is against the wall that leads to an alcove transformed into a second sleeping area.
The Kitchen
A small nook, off to one side of the living room, containswooden cabinetry, above and below the sink, providing ample storage space for utensils, cookware and pantry items. The back wall and tight counter-space are marble; there are two burners located next to the draining board and lights under the upper cabinets. Located against a nearby wall, a microwave sits on two-tiered cart, which also holds a cutting board.
The Alcove/Bedroom
Two small bedside tables with lamps surround a striped double bed, centered in the bedroom. A wardrobe opens behind the bed and a curtain, which matches the bedspread, can be drawn to provide privacy to this small alcove.
The Bathroom
Accessed near the bedroom-alcove, the two-tones bathroom contains a shower, freestanding washbasin, mirror and toilet.
The Area/Environment
The building is located on the Left Bank in the 6the area of Paris, resident have convenient access to nearby stores such as a bakery, butcher and supermarket as well as cafés and restaurants. Navigating the narrow streets reveals amazing points of interest, including the fountain at Place Saint Sulpice and building such as the French Senate, Luxembourg Palace and Luxembourg Gardens – marvels that exemplify 17th century architecture. Commonly referred to as Saint-Germain, this district holds the famous intellect’s cafés: Café de Flore and Café LexDeuxMagots – places where notorious minds such as Picasso, Sartre, Hemingway and others gathered to converse.
