ID 390: Apartment in Paris, 3-rd arrondissement
Located just two steps from Pompidu center, in Le Marais – otherwise known as the 3rd district of Paris, this quaint, 25m2, studio apartment is ideal for two persons. Situated on the 5th French floor of a secure 19th century building with a entrance code, the apartment contains parquet floors and visible wood beams – typical architectural elements in Paris during the 19th century era. The charming appeal is evident in the living room/sleeping area, small kitchen and bathroom.

General Description

A cozy apartment designed for two people, this 5th floor furnished studio is a comfortable, functional space. A living room, which also duals as a bedroom, contains a sofa/bed, fireplace and two large windows; the space also includes a small kitchen and bathroom with toilet and shower.

The Living Room

A marble white fireplace, which holds a plasma TV atop its mantle, is an interesting decorative focal point of the living area. The room also includes a small table with two chairs, set against the wall between two large windows of which a large framed antique mirror hangs; an armchair, floor lamp and chest of drawers are opposite a small filing cabinet and tan leather sofa/bed. Residents also have access to a telephone and free Internet connection. The living area converts into the bedroom.

The Kitchen

The small kitchen area has a sink, toaster, refrigerator, small bar/counter area, cabinet space above and below the sink and is equipped with utensils.

The Bathroom

The walk-in shower is lined with dark tiles, almost in a brick-like fashion, while the shower cabin itself has a glass frame. The bathroom also includes a toilet and a glass washbasin atop a small wooden counter; on the wall behind the washbasin is a wooden mantle and mirror.

The Area/Environment

The historical preservation in third district of Paris, Le Marais, allows residents to view features in the architecture that connect to Parisian history up to the time of the French Revolution. Properties owned by noble families are still functional such as the 18th century mansion that is now the Hotel de Rohan; the studio is part of a 19th century building. Visitors also like the Carnavalet – a historical museum as well as the National Picasso Museum; residents may also partake in a variety of Parisian culture and cuisine in the many local, fashionable bars, restaurants and shops.
